Domaine Loïc Peychon

Wines, Producer Bio in Champagne
  • A self-taught winemaker, Loic Peychon offers you a choice cuvée Le PIZON AOP Saint-Joseph Rouge AB, a wine born of a wonderful fraternal adventure in replanting the family hillside in Vion (07) 7 years ago. The Syrah grape excels here, producing a delicious, fruity wine.

  • Loic Peychon's story as winemaker began with a crazy project: in 2015, he and his brother Fabrice decided to replant a new vineyard on the family's steep slope, classified as AOP Saint-Joseph, at Le Pizon in Vion. They spent their weekends clearing trees, building dry-stone walls, pruning, planting, weeding and so on.

Loic Peychon's story as winemaker began with a crazy project: in 2015, he and his brother Fabrice decided to replant a new vineyard on the family's steep slope, classified as AOP Saint-Joseph, at Le Pizon in Vion. They spent their weekends clearing trees, building dry-stone walls, pruning, planting, weeding and so on.
From there, the adventure began: an executive for 15 years at the CPAM de l'Ardèche, Loïc Peychon changed his professional life, and became a double worker: winemaker during the week, at the Domaine le Pizon created with Fabrice. Already a promising first cuvée for the 2019 vintage, and the cuvées follow with the same signature, a very greedy and fruity wine. And today, Loïc Peychon continues to work as a sports educator on the basketball court.
In 2022, pursuing his passion for and investment in viticulture, he will start planting 2.5 hectares of IGP Collines Rhodaniennes vines, using Syrah and Viognier grapes from the Rhône Valley.
From the outset, out of conviction, his vines have been run using organic farming methods, with a strong ambition to preserve the living environment, planting trees around the plots, using green manure in the rows of vines, working the soil with a hand plow or winch and even a few chickens pecking at the foot of the vines.
The ambition for 2024 is to build a winery to accommodate a greater volume of production and numerous Syrah and Viognier cuvées by the 2024 harvest.
To date, his limited series of 500 bottles, cuvée Le PIZON AOP Saint-Joseph Rouge AB, is distributed in a few select Saint Vallier restaurants in Valence (and as far afield as Paris) and for sale to private individuals at his home. The 2021 vintage has just been released, and the 2022 vintage will be bottled from mid-June 2022. You can find them at the Hauterives Tourist Office boutique.
Loïc Peychon is very proud of his region, and takes particular care in choosing the terroirs and working the vines, which naturally produce fine tastings and, above all, wonderful moments of sharing and conviviality.
